Ketamine medication is designed to remain stable, and this formulation does not require refrigeration or ice packs. It remains stable at room temperature, eliminating the need for cold shipping and aligning with the RDT process so there are no temperature-related concerns during transit.
Storage Guidelines
Our self-stable study for SQ with A&O, VLS, and Louisville is now complete. 60-Day Shelf Stability: Prescriptions are now confirmed stable for 60 days without refrigeration. This eliminates the need for cold shipping and mirrors the RDT process β no temperature-related concerns.
Once Opened: A&O, VLS or Louisville vials do not require refrigeration once accessed, but the shelf life still reduces to 28 days after opening/puncturing.
Shipping: A&O, VLS or Louisville will continue to ship via 2-day delivery, even though refrigeration is no longer required.
Inspecting Ketamine Upon Receipt
When your ketamine shipment arrives, follow these steps to ensure its safety:
Visual Inspection: - The liquid should be clear and pink in color. If it appears cloudy, discolored, or contains particles, do not use it.
Document Concerns: - If you notice any issues, document the condition of the vial, including photos of the liquid, expiration date, and packaging. Report these to Mindbloom Support or your clinician for further evaluation.
Replacement Options for Expired or Unsafe Medication
If medication is expired or appears unsafe to use, please contact Mindbloom Support. Provide clear photos of the medication label, including the expiration date, as well as the current condition of the medication. Support will review the information and forward it to the clinician for further evaluation.
Best Practices
Write down the date you first open your vial so you know when the 28-day window ends as the 28-day window starts once the vial is opened, regardless of how long it was stored before.
Do not use your medication after its Beyond Use Date (BUD) has passed.
