What is a superbill?
A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes:
Your session date(s)
Provider information
Diagnostic and billing codes
Payment details
Superbills are typically used for insurance reimbursement or FSA/HSA claims.
How to request a superbill
Clients can now access a list of their completed appointments from their profile and download an auto-generated PDF Superbill for each.
Navigate to Mindbloom App > Profile > Settings > Superbills > Download the respective appointment's Superbill
Superbill vs Itemized Receipt
Depending on your need, we can provide a variety of forms
Superbill
Includes: Only clinical visits with an associated CPT or Billing Code.
Excludes: Guide appointments, treatment sessions, and medication management
Purpose: Typically used for insurance reimbursement or FSA/HSA claims
Availability: After your initial video consult is completed
If an account is canceled and payments are refunded, superbills are not provided. Instead, invoices and refund confirmations can be issued.
Itemized Receipt
Includes: All program expenses, including Guide Appointments, Treatment Sessions, and Medication Management.
Excludes: Billing codes
Purpose: Proof of payment
Availability: After all payments are completed
Note: If there is any remaining balance, the receipt cannot be generated until the full payment is complete.
