Session audio can stop for four common reasons.
If audio stops during an active session: stay calm and stay lying down. Ask your Peer Treatment Monitor to restart the audio for you if you're unable.
Do the steps below before your next session.
Step 1: Allow the app to play in the background
Do this first if the audio stops when your screen locks.
On iPhone or iPad
Open Settings.
Tap General, then Background App Refresh.
Enable for Wi-Fi
Find Mindbloom in the list. Turn its toggle on.
On Android
Android often limits background apps to save battery.
Open Settings, then Apps, then Mindbloom.
Tap Battery. Select Unrestricted.
Go back. Tap Mobile data.
Turn Background data usage on.
Turn Unrestricted data usage on.
Scroll to Pause app activity if unused. Turn it off.
Step 2: Turn on Do Not Disturb
A text message, an alarm, or call can pause your audio.
Turn on Do Not Disturb before every session.
Step 3: Check your headphones
If you use AirPods 4 or AirPods Pro 2 or newer on iOS 26 or later, your AirPods can pause the audio. They detect that your head is still and assume you are asleep.
To turn this off:
Connect your AirPods.
Open Settings, then Bluetooth.
Tap the (i) icon next to your AirPods.
Find Pause Media When Falling Asleep. Turn it off.
Step 4: Check your connection and app version
Test your Wi-Fi in the room where you do your sessions.
Turn off any VPN or ad blocker. These can interfere.
Update the Mindbloom app in the App Store or Google Play.
Close the app fully. Then open it again.
