Do I need a blood pressure monitor for my sessions?
Yes. A blood pressure monitor is required for your Mindbloom treatment.
Monitoring helps ensure sessions remain within safe parameters and provides your care team with valuable data for dose adjustments and addressing health concerns. Regular tracking enhances awareness of baseline levels and session-related changes.
Monitoring Steps Before and After Sessions
Before Sessions: Measure your blood pressure to establish a baseline before taking any medication doses. Follow the protocols introduced in your first guided session.
After Sessions: Record your blood pressure again post-session to track changes and trends, which will contribute to future health consultations.
Same-Day Readings: Blood pressure readings must be taken on the same day as your session. Readings from previous days are not acceptable.
What should my blood pressure show?
Watch for readings that exceed 150/100 mm Hg for blood pressure or 100 bpm for heart rate. Do not proceed with your session if your readings are above these thresholds. Instead, contact support immediately to discuss your next steps and possibly reschedule your session for a time when your readings are within safe limits.
What if my blood pressure monitor is missing, doesn’t work or won’t charge?
If your bloombox hasn't arrived by the time of your session, you are welcome to arrange or purchase a BP Monitor locally, and Mindbloom will reimburse you up to $35 for a replacement.
If you still have time until your Session and your blood pressure monitor is faulty, simply inform Support, and we will send a new BP Monitor.
Returning the non-working cuff is not required. However, you may need to provide proof that the device is malfunctioning, such as photos or a detailed explanation of the issue.
How to Submit Reimbursement Requests
To ensure your reimbursement request is handled efficiently, please send a copy of the BP Monitor receipt to Support. Once we have received the receipt, we will coordinate with our billing team to process the reimbursement to your account.
Handling Elevated Readings
If your readings remain high after sessions:
Monitor your blood pressure every 30 minutes for 2 hours.
Check if the readings trend downward toward your baseline.
Consider external factors like caffeine intake and note these to share with your clinician.
When to Contact Your Care Team
Share consistent trends or concerns with your care team, particularly if deviations from baseline persist or unusual spikes occur despite following protocols. Your clinician evaluates averages over time, so isolated readings are less critical than ongoing patterns.
